Abstract

In this thesis a clinical study has been made of a small series of fifteen cases of acute coronary occlusion. Some of the cases have been confirmed by electrocardiographic records or pathological examination; facilities for the former were not frequently available. The diagnosis of a typical case of coronary thrombosis can usually be made easily from the clinical condition. A study is made of the etiology of the condition and the effect of the infarction on the working of the heart. The problem of the development of the collateral circulation is also examined.
