Abstract
The main points the author wishes to make prominent are: that paralysis following diphtheria in children is much more frequent than is commonly supposed; that in the majority of instances it is of a multiple nature; and finally, that under appropriate treatment, as that described in the text, grave symptoms will often be avoided and a happy result obtained.
