Abstract

A detailed study is made, by a sensitive flow method, of the changes in catalytic efficiency which occur with time during the decomposition of aqueous H2O2 by Cu2O and CoO. The results form the basis of a discussion of this process. The experimental technique oonsists in passing a constant flow of pure, stabiliser-free H2O2 over catalyst and measuring the variations in heat liberated during the decomposition of the H2O2 by a two-thermistor system immersed in a thermoetatted water bath. The system allows temperature differences of +/- 0.001
