Abstract

The aim of this study was to obtain a clearer understanding of the role played by promoters such as Re, Ir, Sn and Ge in modifying the properties of Pt/Al2O3 reforming catalysts. Particular emphasis was placed on alloy formation in these systems. A variety of bi and multimetallic catalysts were prepared and characterised by transmission electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-Ray analysis.
