Abstract

The literature in the following areas is reviewed: a) The nutritional characteristics of spent grains from grain and malt whisky distillation and their use in ruminant diets. b) The effects of fat in ruminant diets. c) The degradation of fibre in the rumen. d) The effects of alkali treatment on the chemical structure and digestibility of fibre.
