Abstract
Described in the thesis are the results of research on four problems. In the main section the crystal and molecular structure of two compounds, 3.4;5.6 dibenzphenanthrene and decamethylene glycol, are reported. In the appendix is described work on the structure of decamethylenediamine, and on the precise determination of the cell dimensions of naphthalene. The two latter problems could not be completed. 3.4;5.6 Dibenzphenanthrene, C22H14, is of interest because of the intramolecular overcrowding present in its structure. It is monoclinic prismatic, C(6)2h - A2/a, with a= 26.17 A., b = 8.94 A., c = 19.57A., and beta = 105.1
