Abstract
The thesis falls into three parts: 1. An introduction on the importance of the prepositions of the N.T. 2. A general consideration of the N.T. representatives in the light of ancient and modern Greek. 3. A detailed exposition with illustrations from the Papyri. The last and by far the largest section embodice the results of my own researches except where sometimes I have drawn upon the dissertations of Hoenberg and Kuhring who used collections to which I had not access. The middle section is perhaps the least original; but even there I hope it leaves the impression of having gone through my own mill.
