Abstract
In view of the unusual severity of cases of diptheria admitted to the City Fever Hospital, Hull, during the past year it was deemed only proper to take opportunity to confirm the findings of the workiers at Leeds, whose claim to have established a correlation between a virulent form of the bacillus dipheriae, described as 'gravis', and its clinical manifestations is one of no mean importance. The following thesis presents the results of such a confirmatory investigation.
