Abstract

The folio consists of four contrasting works with supporting research papers. The folio includes four pieces: Inexplicably True for solo piano; Secretive Awareness for string quartet; Darkness like a Dream for a cappella S.A choir; After Long Silence for mezzo-soprano and piano. Inspiration was taken from visual analogies taken from nature and the idea of continuity was explored. The folio also explores harmonic sonorities and musical features of vocal music.
