Abstract
A theoretical method has been devised to predict the probability chsracteristics of the response of linear systems to non-Gaussian stationary excitation. Use is made of the higher product moments of the excitation process. The Information provided by higher order correlation functions of both Gaussian and nor."Gaussian processes is discussed. An alternative more practical method of response prediction is established using Numerical Methods. This technique is shown to have many applications in practice and can be extended to handle non-linear systems and non-stationary excitation.
