Abstract

This thesis describes the use of titanium carbenoids for the synthesis of piperidinone
alkaloids, in particular pipecolic acid derivatives, and the development of a new
titanium-based strategy for the methylenation of carbonyl compounds including
carboxylic acid derviatives.
