Abstract
The portrayal of the Persians within Greco-Roman accounts of Julian the Apostate's Persian Expedition of 363AD are primarily driven and controlled by the desire to create certain impressions of Julian himself. This thesis shows how each group of authors - Pagans and Christians - have shaped and modified their account of the same invasion in order to achieve that goal, thus providing a view of how they shaped their narratives in general.
