Abstract
The primary object of this investigation was to study the solubility and thermodynamic properties of calcium sulphide in lime/alumina/silica slags and so obtain data relevant to the desulphurisation reaction in the blast furnace. In addition it was hoped that these data could be used to give valuable information on the activity of Lime in the system. Experimentally, the problem was studied from the gas/slag reaction: CaO +
