Abstract
I propose in this thesis to detail the results of observations on the treatment of 70 cases od rhematoid arthritis, which I have made in the course of an investigation extending over the past three years. The scope of the investigation was mainly theraupeutical, but, in addition, efforts were made by cultural experiments and by the inoculation of animals, to determine the aetiological basis of the disease. The results obtained will be recorded and discussed, and opportunity will be taken to make some remarks on the theory of focal infection which, at the present time, is being pressed as the chief causative in this condition.
